Actually, in this case, double posting is a form of spam.  You could simply edit your comment about how MMP is the only way for you to really watch the series into your question.  Please don't over react to Korori, as she has done nothing wrong.

And, to answer your question, alteration means change.  This board is for discussing changes in MMP compared to the original TMM.  Ex: scene cuts, unusual dialogue, etc.

It's a figure of speech. I know what it means. I'm smart like that. I'm a 6th grader taking Pre- Algebra. To me, it's easy. I go to a magnet school.

Considering the immature way you reacted to Korori, you gave off the impression your question was not rhetorical.  Also - my seven year old sister in the 2nd grade knows what alteration means. Magnet schools and Pre-Algebra in the 6th grade aren't amazingly impressive and the way your post is written makes you sound rather egotistical.

If you would like to keep up a discussion, feel free to PM me.  Enough on this subject, anyway.

I haven't paid MMP much attention, so I don't have a lot to say on the subject.

I think some of the alterations are a bit extreme (such as completely shifting focus in scenes from something like Mint's love for her brother to how she has to cope with primadonna dancers), but others make sense for the American version. (Editing signs, changes Japanese jokes into American ones, etc.)

I agree. Some of the  alterations are a bit extreme. I, of my opinion, think TMM is better. I'm not trying to get off subject, but truce?

The episode that i think was cool was the one where Zoey and mark go to the carnaval and Dren's there. It's so funny when Zoey says,"You think you can just come up to girls a kiss them?!" Cheesy  The badest one was W/ the Butterfly predisite, not really a Thumbs up. Sad

'Badest' is not a proper word, do you mean worst?

I don't think it's the DNA I think it's the "no clothes" thing. (You don't see "anything!" But young kids...............*sigh*)
Yes, young kids would go Oh look, she's naked! teehee! or at least 4kids thinks they would, and their parents would come in and go, stop watching that!

I think that 4kids remade them so that they are a bit too.. valley girlish. THat line "Sleepovers are so 13," was really dumb. >_>

That's because MMP was designed to appeal to little girly girls - but you can pull some likable bits from it, because it is a form of Tokyo Mew Mew.

Well, actually... the Tokyo Mew Mew anime and manga were rather different to begin with (in a good way, I think, as the anime allows for characters other than Ichigo/Zoey to develop); 4Kids had nothing to do with most of it. ^^;

In any event... what bugs me are the age changes (especially for poor Purin/Kikki; eight to fourteen just doesn't work, y'know?). You'd think that they would stay the same as the original if one is going to be marketing the series to that age group, anyway... ah, but I guess the younger girls want to see things about older girls, then emulate them. At least it's better than the Bratz. ^^;

I think they cancelled MMP, correct me if I'm wrong.
Anyway, in one episode they completely edited all of the scenes and put them in this big messed of jumbled scenes. I'm sure little children would have seizures trying to figure out where everything goes >>.

I think your right. It went off air about a month after it premiered, then it came back on some time in July (?). Then it got canceled (?). I'm not completely sure but all I know is that they aren't running it here anymore.

The made Minto mean too, as you can see from episode 6 (?).

Since when has Minto never been a pain in the ass?

Meaner?
Is that even a word?
Whatever.
I do agree, but I've come to respect her arseness 8D.

This isn't really an alteration. It's something that most fans thought was an edit by 4Kids but it really wasn't. It's during the scene with Ryou and Ichigo on episode 18 after the Blue Knight leaves.

Japanese episode with the fansubs that most of us have seen was a TV rip so it showed Ryou wearing these clothes:

But this was a mistake since in the previous episode, right before all of the fighting happened, he was wearing his usual clothes so the Japanese fixed it when the episode was released on DVD (this is a pic from Mew Mew Amiche Vincenti which was one of the few dubs that didn't come from the 4Kids version):

But since most of us don't have access to the actual Japanese DVDs, most thought that it was an edit that 4Kids did when we saw the English Dubbed episode. I actually have the original Japanese DVD version of that episode along with the Cantonese version too and they show the same thing. It turns out that the Japanese fixed a lot of mistakes for the DVD releases (ex: Fixing the color of Zakuro's legband on episode 14 and fixing Ichigo's ears in episode 52).

I guess 4Kids is good at editing but not THAT good.

I noticed the same thing, and I was about to make that point as well.
Why would 4kids spend that much effort editing? And, plus, if 4kids edits something, you can really tell. You would notice that the clothing was really abnormally crappy. And it isn't.

http://mmpu.smuncensored.com/

That site discusses every episode of Mew Mew Power and mentions every cut, alteration, and stupid dialogue emitted from the show. I find it extremly helpful when looking for alterations and edits.
