4Kids doesn't dub accordingly to scripts and stuff because judging from the interviews and stuff, they're only after the market. They could care less about the show unless it was a major market hit. Al Kahn, the CEO, had stated something like, "If it's not marketable, then it's of no interest to us."

@ Mew SnowAngel: It's okay, I had no idea they were planning to do this either. I wasn't notified until the first day they started releasing streaming videos. ALL of the previous episodes are online, so you can watch it. They did skip episode 30 (it may have been due to religion because the episode character, Yamauchi, is Buddhist and the episode focuses on him). They also aired episode 29 before episodes 27 and 28.

Ha, figures. That's why they cut Mew Mew Power.

Popular theory, but we don't know why. We'll probably never know unless you have psychic powers and go after Al Kahn.

But awww, damn. Not marketable? Did they even whip out the Zoey toys yet? I mean, if they said it wasn't marketable and didn't even get out the dolls and magical girl toys, then this is sad.

That -is- sad. I don't believe they ever came out with dub toys, and I'm sure that a number of fans here would go crazy for some. All shoujo has marketing potential, at least directed to younger girls.

Will Mew Mew Power ever come back on television?
They really should have made merchandise.

FYI, that was much more than one word.

Mew SnowAngel-
Probably not.

But don't you think that if you sent a  letter to 4kids that we want the show back on.
Like if you got lots of people to send in letters to them telling them to put the show back on. Would that work?

Tons of people sent 4Kids letters that they wanted Ryan Drummond, the original voice actor of Sonic, to voice Sonic in the show instead of Jason Anthony Griffith.

Tons of people asked 4Kids to release TMM on DVD.

What did 4Kids do? Oh, how about, um, nothing? Tongue

Oh, I am sorry, I didn't mean to sound rude, or blame it on 4 kids tv.
I am not trying to blame it on them, but I heard that this one person
was trying to make sailor moon come back on tv by sending in letters
to this one place trying to make it come back on.

Oh, I don't think they do have tokyo mew mew on dvd, but on ebay I saw that they
had mew mew power on dvd Smiley

Sailor Moon isn't even licensed to an American Company. Same with Tokyo Mew Mew.
They're not coming back anytime soon.

Thing is, 4Kids doesn't care what fans want, generally. If they can't reap benefits from something, they don't want it. :/ That's the way marketing goes.

YTV is just a Canadian channel company and has nothing to do with dubbing the show. In the USA, FOX was the channel that aired it. 4Kids is the company that actually did the dubbing and made it into English.

The only places that still air the English dub are the UK on a channel called PopGirl and Nickelodean only shows it once a week in Austrailia. The MMP DVDs are from Austrailia and they only released 10 episodes before stopping distribution. The only country to actually release all 26 English episodes on DVD was South Africa but they're Region 2.
